Yes. Dragon Copilot works as an ambient AI medical scribe and covers more ground than one. During a visit, it captures the conversation, ignores off-topic chatter, and produces a structured draft note that the clinician reviews and signs. Beyond note drafting, it handles dictation, referral letters, after-visit summaries, and EHR tasks that a human scribe typically wouldn’t.

Yes. Dragon Copilot works inside Epic and Oracle Health (formerly Cerner), and its Epic integration was co-developed by Microsoft, Nuance, and Epic. Draft content is filed to the patient record only after a clinician reviews it. For work outside the EHR, a dedicated Dragon Copilot app runs on iOS, Android, web, and desktop. If you use a different EHR, confirm integration support during planning.

Since May 1, 2026, Microsoft has offered one standard license that includes every enterprise feature at a lower list price than before, with ambient visits billed per encounter. Organizations that mainly need dictation can choose a Flex license and pay as they go for ambient and AI features. Your total depends on user count, license mix, and implementation needs.

Dragon Copilot is built for HIPAA-regulated environments. It runs on Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft signs a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with covered entities, which HIPAA requires of vendors that handle protected health information. AI-generated drafts don’t reach the chart until a clinician reviews them. Compliance remains a shared responsibility, so your organization still manages user access, policies, and staff training.

Most deployments follow four stages: purchasing and assigning licenses in the Microsoft 365 admin center, connecting the EHR and configuring workflows, piloting with a group of clinician champions, and then expanding with training for all users.
